News about our latest events and social gatherings.

Past Players & Friends Association

The club would very much like to form a Past Players & Friends Association. We want to retain our links with former players and social members who are so important in providing memories and stories of a club that is now in its 125 year.

We have already researched club captains going back to 1945 and would welcome any additional photographs or written anecdotes that can be added to our archive.

As ever, all clubs need financial support, so if you are able to help us in one of the following ways, we would be extremely grateful.

1. Become a “Vice President”. There are now two categories or VP.

(i) £85 (min donation). This money goes entirely to the cricket club

(ii) £110 (min donation). This entitles VPs to be members of the whole sports club with the benefit of using all the club’s facilities and includes a car park pass and an entry fob.

2. Join the 100 Club. For £5, paid via a monthly standing order, you are allocated a number (you can buy multiple numbers if you wish). Each month there is a draw for three cash prizes and a Super Draw in September. Prize money is proportionate to the number of participants.

Senior Fixtures & Club Calendar Released

Fixtures for our three senior teams are now available.

As in previous seasons, they can be easy added to your own calendar – just follow the instructions here.

You can also see all club fixtures and social events on our NEW online calendar here.

Club Dinner & Awards Night

Thank you to everyone who attended our Annual Dinner & Awards night on Saturday. It was great to see so many familiar faces celebrating what could have been a very different season, should a few results gone our way for all three teams. Regardless of the cricketing outcomes, its fantastic that we can all get together, enjoy each others company as a ‘club’ – John’s four letter word of the night – whilst having plenty of fun. So thank you all for making it a great event!

New Social

Our Social Committee has announced the next club social:

Sat 25 April – a social evening in the clubhouse.

Please bring along as many friends or family as you wish!

A list of all our upcoming socials can be found here.

Social events update

The social calendar for the rest of the summer is taking shape. The main event coming up is the Club Open Day in association with Waitrose. The purpose of the day is to integrate with the local community and attract new members to the clubs – mainly sponsors, but also adult and junior players along with supporters!

We will send out further info but we plan to run along the following lines:

3pm-6pm: Sponsors XI v Local Business XI T20
6pm-7pm: Kids coaching on outfield with some fun games (Hopefully with some input from Andy Flower)
6pm: Some games for adults (coconut shy / longest throw etc)
7pm-8pm: Analysis of days play at Test Match. We hope to get someone to MC this bit and use Flower for Q&A and analysis
8pm: Social

Please block the evening off in your diary and ensure we have good support from within the club. Then we will all have to do our bit to get outside people in and showcase our brilliant club! Anyone willing to help out should contact Ed Cunnynghame or email the club.
