Have a blast this summer with a brand new soft ball mIxed cricket league aimed at local businesses.

The league, which is being organised by Stratford Cricket Club, will be played on Tuesday evenings over a six-week period beginning on May 14.

Complete beginners and more experienced players are welcome for what is intended to be a fun way to network while having a bit of a run around at the same time.

Matches will be played at Swans Nest Lane in Stratford and at Alscot Park cricket grounds. All equipment (bats, balls, stumps etc) will be provided and each team will be given a dedicated coach. Changing facilities and a bar will be available at both venues.

Each team will have a maximum of eight players and businesses can join forces if they don’t have sufficient numbers on their own. Soft ball cricket was devised to help new players develop a sense of the game while having fun. Every player will have the chance to bat (in pairs), bowl (overarm or underarm) and field. There is no dress code; just comfortable clothes and shoes recommended.

For more details contact Rob Grundy at baravon@btinternet.com or Nick Abell at nick@theabells.co.uk.

The cost of league entry will be £300 per team to cover all six weeks.
